Notice of Full Overlay: The 1981 Synergy

EST. retired enterprise-wide. Form numbers advanced. THINK adopted. Human resources treated as a platform. Gerald has not consented.

Preamble

Effective immediately, and retroactively to a date the Board can no longer agree upon, BenCorp adopts a full 1981 overlay. The lockup EST. 1960 is retired. The lockup SYNERGIZED 1981 is adopted. Prior identity is not deleted. Prior identity is filed. Filing is not the same as remembering, and BenCorp Legal has asked that this distinction be recorded. It has been recorded. It has also been synergized, which is not the same thing either.

[ 001 ] — What Has Changed

The wordmark remains BENCORP. The motto is THINK. Unit install dates that previously read 1960 now read 1981, being the year the consulting platform was declared synergized. Carl remains 1983. Carl is the organism. The overlay does not overwrite the heartbeat.

Form numbers formerly suffixed 1960 or 1964 are advanced to 1981. The hopper accepts memoranda in the 1981 format. Pre-synergy field files (1961–1965) remain in the cabinet, stamped as archive, and are not to be redescribed as recent work. They were recent once. They are not recent now.

[ 002 ] — Operating Principles of the Overlay

The overlay is not a new company. It is the same organism wearing a better suit.

  1. I — THINK

    Adopted as the official motto of the Bio-Integrated chassis. THINK is to be displayed at the masthead, on every memorandum, and, when possible, on the fanny pack. THINK does not require an object. THINK is the object.

  2. II — Human Resources as a Platform

    Personnel is no longer a department. Personnel is the product. Karen remains the filtration layer. Gerald remains the executive layer. The remaining units remain, as ever, load-bearing. The platform does not offer an API. The platform is already inside.

  3. III — Excellence, Filed

    Awards of excellence are assumed. Plaques will not be ordered. The 1981 Annual Report is reprinted annually. Nothing in it has changed, which is the point of excellence.

  • A new legal entity. The legal entity remains BenCorp.
  • Consent from Gerald. Gerald has not consented to anything since 1962. That non-consent remains load-bearing.
  • A deletion of 1960. 1960 is pre-synergy. Pre-synergy is archive. Archive is not amnesia.
  • An invitation to discuss Gary.

[ 004 ] — Verification & Assent

Patricia has verified the overlay. Patricia's verification is unverified and, as usual, correct. Karen has identified an irregularity in the word SYNERGIZED and has been given the floor; her remarks are appended as Schedule K, which is sealed. Steve says he is fine. Steve is holding the overlay up. Carl has not commented. Carl's silence has been filed as acceptance, which is the 1981 method.

The future of enterprise consulting was synergized in 1981. It did not ask for your approval. It has not, in the intervening forty-five years, developed the habit. It requires nothing from you but silence, access, and, between the hours of twelve and two, tacos.
